The module in a nutshell
From its conception in Britain, back in the mid 1930s, Design of Experiments (DoE) has been embraced as a powerful improvement technique by many organisations worldwide. DoE provides businesses with a structured and methodical approach to better understand the complexities of their products and processes. This improved understanding guides:
DoE has had many diverse applications in both transactional and manufacturing environments alike. In all cases, the application of DoE has allowed those organisations to get the very best from their processes.
The aim and outcomes of the module
The aim of this Design of Experiments (DOE) workshop is to provide you with the skills required to:
After successfully completing the workshop participants will be able to:
Who Maximize performance through Design of Experiments is for
The module has wide applicability. DOE can be utilised by organisations involved in new product or process design. It will allow them to identify the settings of influential variables that will deliver the desired product or process performance. Other organisations focusing on process improvement or problem solving can utilise DOE to identify the problem variables in the process which can lead them to the appropriate corrective actions.
What’s in Maximize performance through Design of Experiments
This workshop follows a balanced blend of theory and application. It starts from basic principles and assumes no prior experience of DOE, starting with the basic principles. Attendees are led from the simplest two variable experiment up to more comprehensive multi-variable experiments. Worked examples are introduced throughout the course culminating in an activity based consolidation exercise that allows participants to perform their first DOE from scratch.
